Old Website Exploration: The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride official website

Petition to Give Forgotten Disney More Love

Today is something else new. Before I start I want to share some news though. I've decided that I will also do long, researched posts about a particular subject. The first one is "How Doug Funnie changed The Walt Disney Company." It may take a long time to post, but in the meantime I'll still keep updating with fun posts like this.

Archive.org is a fantastic site that archives a lot of media, including many forgotten Disney things. It also archives websites, so today we're starting with an obvious movie's old website....The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride!

I think this is a well done website with tons of fun stuff to look at.

First lets look at some of this beautiful art for the site:
Rafiki presents Simba and Nala's newborn daughter Kiara to The Pride Lands, while the lionesses watch on, and Timon and Pumbaa are surprised.

Kovu and Kiara reunite and learn that Love will find a way, and that nothing will keep them apart.

Two of the crocodiles that attacked Kovu and Kiara when they were cubs.

Kovu and Kiara jump between Simba and Zira to end the war between The Pride Landers and Outsiders.

I think these are great pictures that show the story and emotions of the characters very well.

Next is the games and activities. Most pages have Lion King 2 coloring pages.

This coloring sheet is odd, as Nuka, Timon and Pumbaa never interacted with one another. It's still nice to see Nuka on something though, as he's absent from a lot of Simba's Pride material.

This coloring page features Simba and Nala with their daughter, the cutest baby ever, Kiara.

A coloring sheet  of the villain Zira and her son, Kovu, who is Scar's chosen heir.

Another interesting coloring page with Kiara, Kovu, and Vitani. I'm not sure what's going on but, Kovu seems scared, Kiara is startled, and Vitani seems happy. I'm also glad to see Vitani, like Nuka she too is absent from a lot of Simba's Pride promotional materials.

There's also a review section and I'm excited about the "Two Thumbs Up" review by the legendary. Siskel and Ebert (May they both rest in peace.)

A lot of the reviews are from other big sources like The New York Times, and L.A. Daily News.

Then at the bottom are some reviews by kids.

Here's one review I can really get behind

Over all this is a fantastic site and I might do some explorations of the current site and the 2004 special edition website. Remember Simba's words, "We Are One."

Character Spotlight: Annie and Hallie Parker

Petition to Give Forgotten Disney More Love

Our next character spotlight focuses not on one, but two forgotten Disney characters. Hallie and Annie Parker.

Movie: The Parent Trap (1998)
Actor: Lindsey Lohan

Family
Nick Parker (Father)
Elizabeth James (Mother)
Charles James (Grandfather)

Annie and Hallie are two twins who were separated as babies when their parents divorced. They reunite at Camp Walden where they learn they're twins. Hallie and Annie decide to switch places abd coax their parents to get back together. Annie lives in London with her mother Elizabeth James  who is a dress designer, her grandfather Charles James, She's the nicer of the twins and is the first to notice their resemblance after the fencing match. and their butler Martin Hallie lives in Napa Valley California with her father Nick Parker who is a wine grower, her nanny Chessy, and her golden retriever Sammy. She's a little bit more tough minded than her sister and doesn't listen to her when she tells him their father is going to marry Meredith Blake, who is only into Nick for his money. Annie and Hallie care deeply for each other though.

Forgotten Disney Babies

Petition to Give Forgotten Disney More Love

Disney babies are some of the most adorable babies around, that includes forgotten Disney babies. So why don't we take a look at some.

Kiara
Even though she was shown as baby at the end of The Lion King, I think baby Kiara looks much cuter at the beginning of The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. It might be because she was probably modeled after a human baby more than a lion cub. Kiara is still number 1 on my list as cutest baby ever.

Melody
Next is Ariel and Eric's daughter Melody from The Little Mermaid 2: Return to The Sea. She's a top contender for second place on my list of cutest babies. I admire how well they did to make Melody look like both of her parents, she's obviously their daughter.

Geno and Gurri
While the movie Bambi itself isn't forgotten, Bambi's two fawns Geno and Gurri are. These two adorable fawns are born to Bambi and Faline at the end of the movie. It would be awesome if there was a Bambi 3 to focus on these two and their adventures.

Lady and the Tramp isn't forgotten, but Lady and The Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure is, and by extension Scamp is considered forgotten as well. At the end of Lady and the Tramp, he is shown as a near clone to tramp, but Scamp's adventure changed his design so he'd be a bit more unique. Also did you know even way back in the 1950s his name was still Scamp?

Sticking with Lady and The Tramp for a bit longer, we got Junior, the baby from the first film. He's somewhat down on the scale of remembered Lady and The Tramp characters so I decided to include this little cutie. I thought he looked cuter in Scamp's Adventure.

Poor Tod. He's from The Fox and The Hound, which is usually regarded as forgotten, and The Fox and The Hound 2, which is really regarded as forgotten. Tod lost his mother at a young age (Often speculated to have been killed by Copper's owner Amos Slade). Luckily Big Mama was there for him and helped him find a home with Tweed.

I hope you Awwed a little bit at these forgotten Disney babies, and remember We are one.
