Petition to give Forgotten Disney More Love

Welcome to part 3 of the Disney.com series. This time it's 1998! This was not only the year I was born, but the year my favorite movie of all time The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride came out...So expect a little bit of that in here ....

To start off we're doing a whole section to The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, mainly the Active Play Website:

The main page for The Lion King II: Simba's Pride Active Play. I love this game honestly, especially the art aspects of it. I love how late 90s this page looks too, 90s designs are some of my favorites.

The system requirements. Wow. Things sure have changed from 1998 huh? I can actually get Active Play to run just fine on my Windows 10 laptop, so if you wanna pick it up off on Amazon like I did, it might work for you too.

Meet Kiara. This was above Kiara's bio, which was very well written. It focused on how Kiara wants to follow her heart, which is very accurate to her character.

One of my favorite parts of Simba's Pride Active Play is customizing animals. Kovu and Kiara even make comments on them too!

Some Rafiki clipart that originated in 1994, with the picture maker, another part I love of the same. Here we got a Kovu and Kiara sitting next to a custom elephant.

The hippo one is my favorite, because in elementary school I used to play the board\puzzle game Traffic Jam a lot (I still play online versions to this day) and it reminds me of it. The giraffe game is pretty fun too. My microphone works well on that game, and I can get the monkey to say funny stuff.

Some clip art of Timon, Pumbaa, Kovu, and Kiara. It's pretty cute to see a group shot of these four, even if Timon and Pumbaa didn't become friends with Kovu until he was an adult, specifically after the bird\rhino chase.

A pretty high quality Kiara clip art. I've seen various versions of this one before, mainly one with flatter colors, but I think this version looks great.

The next and back arrows on the Simba's Pride Active Play website. I think they're really cute little twirly arrows. They kind of give me a little bit of a Blues Clues vibe too.

Ah yes, Disney's One Saturday Morning. This is a gold mind of forgotten Disney content: Doug, 101 Dalmatians: The Series, Even Stevens, Pepper Ann, The Proud Family, Llyod in Space, Jungle Cubs, ect.

Here we got a tripple whammy! We've got Quack Pack, Jungle Cubs, and The Mighty Ducks! Funfact: Daisy is my favorite of the "original Disney characters"

Petition to give Forgotten Disney More Love

Welcome to the first part in my series where I look at the old Disney websites via The Way Back Machine and document the things that are now Forgotten Disney. So we're starting with the year the Disney website launched in 1996, and going aaaaaalll the way to 2019.

So here we go!

Sadly the 1996 website is a little bit lackluster compared to later years, but I got what I could of it.

Here's the movie list on the sidebar of the website. Aladdin and The King of Thieves was released directly to Walt Disney Home Video in 1996 while the live action 101 Dalmatians and The Hunchback of Notre Dame were released in theaters then.

And on the television side we've got Quack Pack and The Mighty Ducks (You know the cartoon where they're actually ducks.)

Ooooh an Oliver and Company (Or Oliver & Co.) storybook. Sadly the link was broken, but it would have been cool to look at.

Here we got The Christmas Tree airing on ABC near the holidays, and some dalmatians for 101 Dalmatians. I'm sure that Disneyland link would have had some neat extinct attractions too. Also the stars section, could have seen the stars of some more Forgotten Disney stuff.

Whooooo here's a big one, not only do we got some 101 Dalmatians merch, but we also get a sneak peak at Flash Forward, another Disney Channel show lost to time.

And finally we've got this banner. Although this Pongo is from the 1961 film, they did use the cartoon style of that film a lot in promotional material (A practice that continued with 102 Dalmatians in 2000), so it works. Then we can also raid Cruella's closet, no doubt full of exotic furs and such.

A Tribute to Cartoon Lizzie

Petition to give Forgotten Disney More Love

I've always loved Lizzie Mcguire. I got the movie, a DVD with episodes with famous guest stars (Like Aaron Carter) and I even picked up The Lizzie Mcguire Movie soundtrack today at Goodwill. I spent hours playing one of the promotional Mcdonalds CD Roms called Whoops! (That was the girl toy and I'm pretty sure my big sister who was a fan of the show too got it. I was still pretty young in 2003 when that promotion happened. The boy toys were another forgotten Disney property and another personal favorite of mine Dave The Barbarian. I have ani nflatable Lula from that promotion.) Which focused on bloopers and embarking moments.

I've always had a fascination with cartoon Lizzie, and now looking back she's great business wise. It would be easy to make merch of a simple cartoon design like hers, and their might not be any likeness troubles legally. So here's some cartoon Lizzies, hope she gets more merch one day if my petition works.

Here's a not so blushing bride Lizzie at the beginning of the Episode Clueless explaining to the audience that her wedding to Ethan is no dream. Which we come to learn is true, and is rather the set up for a murder mystery party. "Clue" less .... get it? Heh ....
