Petition to Give Forgotten Disney More Love
Today is something else new. Before I start I want to share some news though. I've decided that I will also do long, researched posts about a particular subject. The first one is "How Doug Funnie changed The Walt Disney Company." It may take a long time to post, but in the meantime I'll still keep updating with fun posts like this.
Archive.org is a fantastic site that archives a lot of media, including many
forgotten Disney things. It also archives websites, so today we're starting with an obvious movie's old website....
The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride!
I think this is a well done website with tons of fun stuff to look at.
First lets look at some of this beautiful art for the site:
Rafiki presents Simba and Nala's newborn daughter Kiara to The Pride Lands, while the lionesses watch on, and Timon and Pumbaa are surprised.
Kovu and Kiara reunite and learn that Love will find a way, and that nothing will keep them apart.
Two of the crocodiles that attacked Kovu and Kiara when they were cubs.
Kovu and Kiara jump between Simba and Zira to end the war between The Pride Landers and Outsiders.
I think these are great pictures that show the story and emotions of the characters very well.
Next is the games and activities. Most pages have Lion King 2 coloring pages.
This coloring sheet is odd, as Nuka, Timon and Pumbaa never interacted with one another. It's still nice to see Nuka on something though, as he's absent from a lot of Simba's Pride material.
This coloring page features Simba and Nala with their daughter, the cutest baby ever, Kiara.
A coloring sheet of the villain Zira and her son, Kovu, who is Scar's chosen heir.
Another interesting coloring page with Kiara, Kovu, and Vitani. I'm not sure what's going on but, Kovu seems scared, Kiara is startled, and Vitani seems happy. I'm also glad to see Vitani, like Nuka she too is absent from a lot of Simba's Pride promotional materials.
There's also a review section and I'm excited about the "Two Thumbs Up" review by the legendary. Siskel and Ebert (May they both rest in peace.)
A lot of the reviews are from other big sources like The New York Times, and L.A. Daily News.
Then at the bottom are some reviews by kids.
Here's one review I can really get behind
Over all this is a fantastic site and I might do some explorations of the current site and the 2004 special edition website. Remember Simba's words, "
We Are One."
